ABOUT: ARCHITECTURE
I am probably as passionate about architecture as you are.
The difference between my job and your job is that I don’t have to stress about floor loads, compromised budgets or government regulations.
I just have to fall in love with your building. Understand it. Explore and discover it’s most compelling curves and angles. And make beautiful images of it.
Sounds poetic, huh! Well, it is – buildings truly are beautiful, and it’s my responsibility to show them at their best to the world.
It’s not always disco though. The reality of architectural photography is sore feet, lugging a heavy tripod around almost-ready buildings, negotiating access to nicely positioned balconies, and early mornings (for the light). But it’s always an adventure – my curiosity always wins.
STYLE
My personal, in-built style is for big, wide, bold, clean and colourful. I like my photos to do the buildings justice - I want my images to capture the essence, to be eye catching, memorable, and to be compellingly balanced.
Even when I am shooting something as functional as a hospital, these principles still drive my vision.
Despite this, I still make sure I get the practical shots. Some shots make not be works for art - sometimes they just have to record or represent the structure's purpose.
I am a photographic chameleon - I can adapt my style to suit my your vision.
THE PROCESS:
Despite my lyricism for buildings, the process is anything but romantic!
My process for architectural jobs often follows the same pattern.
A single building is usually a full day or half-a-day.
Clients who want both the lovely morning light and evening shots usually opt for the full day option.
During the full-day sessions, I start early, and finish late, with the interior shots taking place between 10am and 4pm.
Those who want just daylight shot requirements can usually get away with a half-day (unless it is a large / complicated project). I usually start the half-days at first light, shooting the exterior before moving to the interior shots, as the sun gets higher.
I am happy to have a video conference call to discuss your project beforehand.
Your architect is welcome to follow me around on the day – though this is optional. Many architects join me for an hour to point out the things most important to them on shoot day. I encourage these meetings to take place after 10:30am when the light is starting to go-off. This way I maximise my time with the nice light.
I shoot as many images as I can in the time available. The final number is dependent on the building’s attributes. Some projects offer many angles and details. Others offer few options.
All provided images are supplied touched-up and print-ready.
The files are delivered online, and a back-up USB is delivered to you by mail once the final images have been settled-on.

PRICING
My prices are aimed at the sweet spot in the middle of the market. My prices are neither extremely high without justification, nor so low that I can't offer you first class service and attention.
Pay more, and I don't think you'll receive better images or value for your investment. Pay less and you risk getting a photographer who may have less experience (I use every bit of my 14 years experience) or have compromised on their equipment (my lenses are designed for specifically for architecture).
I offer full-day (8 hours) and half-day (4 hours) options.
